Alberto Bertelli was born and raised in the Renaissance city of Florence. He comes from a long line of well-known artists, and his love of the arts has always been central to his life.

In the 1940s, he travelled widely throughout Europe before settling in Norway, where he met his wife, Tove.

He has three sons, Jon, Per, and Tom, all of whom have

pursued careers in the arts: Jon is a photographer, Per is a graphic designer, and Tom is also a painter.

Alberto spent many years working as an art director for several international advertising agencies in Europe.

His creative talent, vivid imagination, and wonderful sense of humour, mixed with a strong sense of aesthetics, made his work highly respected and appreciated.

In 1968, he and his family returned to Italy, first to Milan and subsequently to Florence.

In 1978, he made his final relocation to Canada, where he could concentrate solely on his oil paintings.

He was a distinguished member of the Society of Canadian Artists, and has left us with a vast, and eclectic, artistic legacy.
